Want Current Sustenance, Read Surah Al-Waqi'ah?
EVERY surah in the Quran has its own meaning and privilege. However, there is one letter that says it will facilitate sustenance, if we read it. What letter is that? This is the letter of Al-Waqi'ah. But, is that true?
In consultationsyariah.com it is explained that the virtue of the letter Al Waqi'ah is indeed mentioned in many hadiths. However, all these hadiths cannot be used as evidence because some of them are weak, some are even fake. The following is an example of the hadith, "Whoever reads the letter Al Waqi'ah every night, then he will not be poor forever."
The above hadith was issued by al Harith bin Abu Usamah in his Musnad, no. 178. Also issued by Ibn Sunniy in the book Amalul Yaum wal Lailah, no. 674. Also issued by Ibn Bisyron in Al 'Amali, I: 38:20. Also issued by Al Baihaqi in Shu'abul Iman, and others. All of them came from the path of Abu Syuja 'from Abu Thoyyibah from Abdullah bin Mas'ud Radhiyallahu 'Anhu.
The hadith is weak because in the genealogy of the narrators there is a weak person.
Al Imam Adz Dzahabi Rahimahullah said, "Abu Syuja 'is a person who is not clear, unknown. Likewise he narrated from Abu Thayyibah, who is Abu Thayyibah?" (meaning he is an unknown narrator too).
Al Munawi Rahimahullah in Fathul Qadir said, "Imam Az Zaila'i said that there are narrators whose history is flawed from various sides. First, the history is interrupted as explained by Imam Ad Daruquthni and others. Second, the content of the hadith is munkar as explained by Imam Ahmad. Third, the narrators are weak people as said by Ibn Jazari. Fourth, this hadith really shakes and has agreed on the weaknesses of this hadith including Imam Ahmad, Imam Abu Hatim Ar Razi, his son, Imam Ad Daruquthni, Al Baihaqi and others," (summarized from the book Silsilah Adh Dha'ifah, no. 289 ).
Then another hadith is, "Whoever reads the letter Al Waqi'ah every night then he will not be poor forever. And whoever reads Surah Al Qiyama every night, he will meet Allah on the Day of Resurrection while his face shines like the moon on a full night.”
The above hadith is a fake / maudhu 'issued by Ad Dailami from the path of Ahmad bin Umar Al Yamami with the sanad to Ibn 'Abbas Radhiyallahu 'Anhuma and mentioned by Al Imam As Suyuthi in Dzailul Ahadis al Maudhu'ah no. 177. Imam Ahmad said, "Ahmad al Yamami is a narrator who is kadzdzab (who likes to lie)," (quoted from the book Silsilah Adh Dha'ifah, no. 290).
