As a Muslim, we are commanded to love Rasulullah SAW. When we talk about love, of course it's not just saying the word love from the lips. However, we must apply this love by carrying out all the things ordered by the Apostle, and staying away from all prohibitions through his words.

Here are five characteristics if you love Prophet Muhammad SAW:

1. Following the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad SAW

If we claim to love the Prophet, then follow the Sunnah of the Prophet. The more we love the Sunnah, the more we will try to apply it in life. If there is something that the Prophet exemplified then do it, but if there is something that is contrary to the sunnah of the Prophet then leave it.

2. Learning Sirah Nabawiyah and Encouraging Others to Do It

Every Muslim should study the biography of the Prophet SAW, because if we study the sirah of the prophet then we will know how compassion, love, dedication, sincerity, beauty, noble character, concern for the people, and whatever the Prophet SAW did to convey Islam to the whole world.

How is it possible, if we claim to love the Prophet, but we do not know his biography and background?

3. Frequently Pray for the Prophet SAW

If we claim to love the Prophet SAW, then don't forget to pray for the Prophet Muhammad to Allah SWT. Actually, if we understand the meaning of prayer reading, we often pray for the Prophet SAW through reading "Allahumma Sholi 'ala Muhammad".

The more we often send prayers to the Prophet SAW, then we will be closer to him later on the Day of Judgment and the Prophet SAW will intercede for people who love him when we are in the hereafter.

4. Liking The Things The Prophet Muhammad Loved And The People He Loved

If we claim to love the Prophet SAW, then we must like the things that the Prophet Muhammad loved, for example, often perform sunnah fasting on Mondays and Thursdays, use siwak and other sunnahs that the Prophet loves.

In addition, we must also love the people who are loved by the Prophet SAW, such as Abu Bakr, Umar bin Khattab, Uthman bin Affan, Ali bin Abi Talib and the entire family of the Prophet SAW and his companions in general.

5. Often remember the Prophet SAW and want to meet him

When we love someone, then we often think about someone they love, until we hope to meet someone we love. Therefore, the more we love the Prophet, the more we remember him by reading the nabawiyah sirah, multiplying prayers and reading blessings for him, so that we hope to Allah SWT to meet the Prophet SAW in the hereafter.
