Prayer When An Earthquake Occurs, Is There?

EARTH is often shaken. You certainly feel it, right? Even if you don't feel it, you must have heard the news that an earthquake occurred in another area. Yes, we know the shaking of the earth as an earthquake. Where, buildings that stand firm and smooth roads can collapse and be damaged instantly.

Hearing that, as a Muslim, getting closer to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala is the most effective solution. Why? Because Allah is the giver of disaster. And He is the one who can stop it. Then, what is our duty to Him?

One of them is praying. Yes, ask Allah so that the earthquake does not happen again. So, is there a special prayer when an earthquake occurs?

That there is no special prayer or dhikr when feeling / an earthquake occurs. A number of scholars view it as good to increase istighfar, prayer, tadharru '(humility), and alms when a disaster occurs, such as an earthquake. This is generally prescribed when a disaster occurs and its signs.

Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala said, "We did not send a prophet to a land, (then its inhabitants denied the prophet), but We inflicted hardship and suffering upon its inhabitants so that they submit humbly," (Surah Al-A' raf: 94).
