The Secret of Duha Prayer
ALLAH SWT in several verses swear by Duha time. In the opening of the letter As-Shams, Allah says, "By the sun and by the time of Duha." In fact, there is a special letter in the Koran with the name Addhuha.
Summarized from various sources, at the opening, Allah said, "By the time of Duha." Imam Arrazi explained that every time Allah swt swears by something, it shows something that is great and has great benefits. If Allah swears by the time of Duha, it means that the time of Duha is a very important time. True, Duha time is a very important time. Among the prayers of the Prophet Muhammad: Allahumma baarik ummatii fii Bukuurihaa. It means, "O Allah, give blessings to my people in the morning."
This shows that people who are active and wake up in the morning (Fajr and Duha time) to worship Allah and earn a lawful living, he will get blessings. On the other hand, those who fall asleep in dreams and do not have time to pray Fajr on time, he does not get the blessing.
Abu Dharr narrated a hadith. Rasulullah SAW said, "For every segment of your body, let him give charity every morning. One time reading tasbih (subhanallah) is alms, one time reading tahmid (alhamdulillah) is alms, one time reading takbir (Allahu Akbar) is alms, telling to do good is alms, and preventing evil is alms. And, all of that can be replaced with two rak'ahs of the Duha prayer," (HR Muslim).
Aisyah narrated that Rasulullah SAW always performed the Duha prayer four cycles. In the narration of Umm Hani, "Sometimes the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) performed the Duha prayer up to eight rak'ahs," (HR Muslim). Imam Attirmidhi and Imam Atthabrani narrated a hadith that explains that if a person performs the Fajr prayer in congregation in the mosque, then he stays in his prayer place until the time of Duha, then he performs the Duha prayer, he will get a reward like going for Hajj and Umrah is accepted. Hadith scholars recommend this hadith to be hasan.
It is clear that Duha prayer is very important for believers. It is important not because as is widely perceived that the Duha prayer has to do with seeking sustenance, but it is important because of Allah's oath in the Qur'an. So, truly happy are the believers who start their morning with the Fajr prayer in congregation in the mosque, then continue with the Duha prayer.
